Making sure you take continuing education courses from providers that are approved by the proper organizations ensures that you receive quality and third party reviewed material. National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB)
The NCBTMB requires licensees to complete 24 hours of continuing education every two years, 3 of which must be in research.

Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals (ABMP)
The ABMP offers two different membership levels, Professional level and Certified level. The Certified level is the highest level of members and requires 16 continuing education hours every two years. While the Professional level membership does not require any continuing education, we invite Professional level members to look into our courses to benefit their current or future practice and career.
Because our courses meet the ABMP requirments, you can use any of our courses to fulfill your renewal requirements

American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA)
AMTA members are required to complete 48 hours of continuing education every four years beginning with the first full year of Professional Active membership.
The AMTA will accept classes that assist members in the starting and maintaining of their practice. This includes business development courses. Because of this, you can use any of our courses to fulfill your continuing education requirements

State by State Massage Continuing Education Requirements and Approvals
Alabama
Alabama requires 16 hours of continuing education biennially. Because our courses are approved by the Alabama board of massage therapy, all 16 hours can be taken online and all of our courses can be used.

Alaska
Alaska does not have any continuing education requirements for massage therapists.
However, feel free to use our courses to expand your knowledge of the business management and marketing side of a massage therapy practice.
Arizona
Arizona massage therapists must complete 25 CE hours every 2 years. Up to 12 of those CE hours can be taken online.
Because of our NCBTMB approval, you can use any of our courses to fulfill those 12 hours.

Arkansas
Arkansas massage therapists must complete 18 CE hours every 2 years. Up to 6 of those CE hours can be taken online.
You may take up to 6 CE hours of our courses for Arkansas license renewal.

California
California has three levels of massage certification: CMT, CMP, and CCMP. CCMP requires 30 hours of continuing education each year. All of which can be completed online.
Because of our NCBTMB approval, you can use any of our courses to fulfill those 30 hours.

Colorado
Colorado does not have any continuing education requirements for massage therapists, however feel free to use our courses to expand your knowledge of the business management and marketing side of a massage therapy practice.

Connecticut
Each Connecticut licensee applying for license renewal must complete a minimum of 24 hours of qualifying continuing education every 4 years. No more than 6 hours of CE can be achieved via Internet based or distance learning programs.
You can use any of our courses to fulfill these 6 online hours.

Delaware
Delaware massage therapists must complete 24 hours of approved CE during each 2 year licensing period. Massage technicians must complete 12 hours of approved CE during each 2 year licensing period. NCBTMB approved CE courses are automatically approved for content.
Because our courses are under the elective Continuing education category, 6 of the required CE hours for massage therapists and 3 of the required CE hours for massage technicians can be completed using our online courses.

Florida
Florida massage therapists must complete 24 hours of approved CE during each 2 year licensing period which ends on August 31 of the odd numbered year. A maximum of 12 of the required CE hours can be online.
Because we are Florida approved and our courses deal with practice management, 6 of your required hours can be taken through our courses.

Georgia
Georgia massage therapists must complete 24 hours of approved CE during each 2 year licensing period. A maximum of 12 of the requried CE hours can be online.

Hawaii
Hawaii does not have any continuing education requirements for massage therapists, however feel free to use our courses to expand your knowledge of the business management and marketing side of a massage therapy practice.
Idaho
Idaho massage therapists must complete 6 hours of approved CE, 1 of which must be in ethics. All of these hours can be completed online.
Because of our NCBTMB approval, you can use any of our courses to fulfill your CE requirements.

Illinois
Illinois therapists need 24 CE hours every 2 years for license renewal. Renewal period is every even numbered year on December 31. Of the 24 CE hours, 2 must be in ethics. You can take up to 12 CE hours in home study/online format.
Because of our NCBTMB approval, you can take up to 12 CE hours of our courses for your license renewal.

Indiana

Iowa
Iowa therapists need 24 CE hours every 2 years for license renewal based on the date of initial licensure. You can take up to 6 CE hours in home study/online format relating practice management.
Because of our NCBTMB approval, you can take up to 6 CE hours of our courses for your license renewal.

Kansas

Kentucky
Kentucky massage therapists must complete 24 CE hours of education, including 3 CE hours of ethics, every 2 years for license renewal. Topics relevant to ethics, business practices, science and techniques related to massage therapy are accepted. Because we are an NCBTMB approved provider, all of our courses are accepted for Kentucky license renewal.

Maine
Maine does not have any continuing education requirements for massage therapists, however feel free to use our courses to expand your knowledge of the business management and marketing side of a massage therapy practice.
Maryland
24 hours every 2 years. 3 must be in ethics, 3 in communicable disease, and 18 in massage related courses.
Because our courses are outside the scope of practice for massage therapists i.e. business management and marketing, you cannot use these courses to fulfill your Maryland CE requirements.
However feel free to take our courses outside of your need of continuing education as the information is invaluable to the success of a massage therapy practice.

Massachusetts

Missouri massage therapists must complete 12 CE hours of education every 2 years for license renewal.

Montana massage therapists must complete 12 CE hours every 2 years for license renewal.

Nebraska
Nebraska massage therapists must complete 24 CE hours every 2 years for license renewal. NE therapists renew their license on or before November 1 of each odd numbered year. Only accepts CE hours on online if it is ethics up to a max of 7.
We do not offer Ethics courses so our courses cannot be used toward Nebraska CE requirements.

Nevada
Nevada massage therapists must complete a minimum of 12 CE hours for renewal every year. All CE hours must be completed within the 12 month period following your last renewal and must be submitted with your current renewal to be able to receive credit for hours completed in that time period. You may carry over a maximum of 36 CE hours over a span of 3 years.

New Hampshire
New Hampshire massage therapists must complete 12 CE hours every 2 years for license renewal.

New Jersey massage therapists must complete 20 hours every 2 years, 6 of which can be online.

New Mexico
New Mexico massage therapists must complete 16 CE hours for license renewal, 4 of which in ethics every 2 years.

New York
Effective on January 1, 2012 New York massage therapists must complete 36 hours of mandatory continuing education for re-registration every three years.
Because our courses are related solely to business practices, they cannot be used to fulfill New York CE requirements.

North Carolina
North Carolina massage therapists must complete 24 CE hours every 2 years for license renewal, 3 of which must be in ethics. 12 of the required CE hours may be completed online.
Because of our NCBTMB approval and the business management nature of our courses, you may only use 3 of our course hours towards your license renewal. Our 3 hour courses are Online Marketing and Professional Communication.

North Dakota massage therapists must complete 32 CE hours every 2 years for license renewal. 12 of the required CE hours may be completed online.

Tennessee
Tennessee massage therapists must complete 25 CE hours every 2 years. Of the 25 CE hours, 2 must be taken (via live classroom instruction) in Tennessee Law and 2 must be taken in practice management, ethics or substance abuse (this 2 CE hour requirement may be taken in home study format, such as our 2 CE hour ethics course). Up to 8 of these CE hours can be online.

Texas
Texas massage therapists must complete 12 CE hours every 2 years for license renewal.

Washington
Washington massage therapists must complete 24 CE hours every 2 years for license renewal. Washington does not approve specific CE courses, curriculum or providers and leaves the decision of what courses or providers would meet the continuing education needs up to the individual massage practitioners.

Washington DC
For license renewal in Washington DC, continuing education must include a total of twelve (12) hours of approved continuing education, of which three (3) hours must be in Ethics and Nine (9) hours must be in massage-related course through a Board-approved provider. Of these nine (9) hours, six (6) hours must be face to face instruction and three hours may be online instruction.

West Virginia
West Virginia massage therapists must complete 24 hours every 2 years, 3 must be in professional ethics. Six CE hours can be carried over from the previous licensing period.
Because West Virginia follows NCBTMB and we are an NCBTMB approved provider, West Virginia will accept our coures as approved continuing education courses.
